In the epoch that globalization is the worldwide trend, the establishment of Taiwan subjectivity has also become an urgent issue. Hence, to promote the local studies of Taiwan from political, economical, societal, and cultural perspectives, Taiwan Studies Center (TSC) at National Chengchi University (NCCU) was founded in April 2003. The TSC takes the role of civil think-tank in providing consulting services and aims to become an international distinguished academic institution in the field of Taiwan studies.
